Most of us will experience mental health issues in our lives. Unfortunately, the term ‘Mental Health’ does come with some stigma attached and at times people believe that to see a psychologist you need to be ‘crazy’. Although friends and family can be a great resource to talk to and to seek help from, a psychologist can offer you an unbiased opinion; often friends and family can be too close to the issue at hand and may be biased.

At times you may feel ‘stuck’, for example, your mindset may be fixed, and you may believe you are not good enough or not smart enough. Having a fixed mindset may impact on your life and you may feel unfulfilled and dissatisfied. Seeing a psychologist can give you an alternative perspective that you may not have considered. A psychologist can provide a safe, confidential and supportive environment to help you remove those mental roadblocks that have been holding you back in your life or career. When you see a psychologist, you will also realise that you are not alone and the way you have been feeling about your future, your sexuality etc., has been an experience shared by others as well.
